Welcome to Horbury Primary Academy

  • We hope that our website gives you a sense of our truly special school, as well as providing regularly updated information for all members of our school community.

Horbury Primary Academy is a large, two-form entry primary school in the heart of Horbury, Wakefield. We are a happy, safe and fun academy and are incredibly proud of our children and the successes they achieve.

We have a highly inclusive ethos and believe that every child can achieve great things. Our staff are kind, caring and highly skilled: they go the β€˜extra mile’ to ensure that all children have the opportunity to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Our ultimate aim is for every child to reach their potential and to create a lifelong love of learning. 'The Horbury Way' gives children not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life. We have a culture of learning in which we have high expectations of all, enabling children to achieve through challenge and support.

If you have any questions, or would like to visit our fantastic school, please contact the school office directly.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one β€˜Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
