Update: Wednesday 13 May 2020

Following on from the Prime Minister’s statement to the nation on Sunday 10 May, please find the guidance issued in relation to the proposed re-opening of schools here.

Update: Sunday 10 May 2020

Following this evening’s statement from the Prime Minister, we will obviously be awaiting further details in relation to the planned re-opening of schools that was highlighted.

In the meantime, the academy remains open specifically for vulnerable pupils and children of key workers – there has been no change to the guidance in this respect to date.

If you are a key worker covered under the government classification, and you intend to use the Emergency Care Provision offer but haven’t previously done so, please ensure that you complete this booking form to apply for a place.

You will also be asked to complete this declaration form to confirm eligibility and the specific arrangements relating to Emergency Care Provision.

It is important to note that places for Emergency Care Provision will only be allocated following completion of both the booking form and declaration form – pupils should not attend the academy unless a place has been confirmed.

Update: Thursday 7 May 2020

We are aware that the Government intends imminently to make a statement which may outline the intention to re-open schools. This will be the first time that schools will have had any information / confirmation, and it will be received at the same time as parents and pupils also receive the information. Clearly there will be a need to review the information and to begin any associated planning.  We will of course update you at regular intervals of any specific developments moving forward into next week, with an assurance that the safety of pupils and staff will continue to be paramount.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
