D&T Events and Activities
Summer Cooking with Classroom Kitchen
Classes across school have been taking part in cooking sessions led by Classroom Kitchen. Children within this academic year (2021-2022) have completed six cooking sessions per year group. Children have learnt a variety of skills including the bridge and claw when cutting, how to grate, stirring and mixing and peeling.

Children across school have enjoyed their cooking sessions. Year 6 made jambalaya, Year 5 created a Greek pasta salad, Year 4 made coleslaw, Year 3 created fruit and vegetable cous, cous and Year 2 made a traffic light salad!

Year 5 developed their sewing skills by designing and making Christmas stockings.
The children in Year 3 developed their bread making skills in their Cooking Lessons and produced bread-g-hogs.
Year 5 enjoyed designing and making their own kites. They had the opportunity to fly them on the school field.
Year 2 enjoyed creating bridges linked to their Science topic. They looked at different materials and discussed which would be the best to hold the three Billy Goats and protect them from the troll! The discovered that lollipop sticks and glue were the strongest and sturdiest.
