Moving to the “My Child At School” (MCAS) App

Dear Parents/ Carers,

MCAS – future communication, payments and bookings

It is really encouraging that many of the children in our academy now have at least 1 parent/carer signed up for MCAS.
This is a great response since the launch in September, however we still have a number of children left to sign up.
As those of you who already access it will be aware, we are not yet using MCAS to its full potential, mainly due to the fact that we have only had a short period to train staff on its various functions and the fact that we wanted to give parents a chance to get signed up and to familiarise themselves with it. Currently parents can only see their child’s personal details and attendance as well as receive messages and announcements. Below is the outline of what we hope to achieve this month.

  • To get all the remaining families signed up to MCAS by Friday 10th December 2021.
  • Once everyone is signed up, the academy will no longer communicate using ParentPay, but instead messages will be sent directly to the MCAS app in announcement, message or email form (please ensure you turn your notifications on);
  • To move away from ParentPay and take only payments for things like school meals, trips, events and clubs through MCAS when we return to school on Tuesday 4th January 2022;
  • Teachers will start to populate MCAS with pupil behaviour points at some point this academic year so please look out for more information on this.

A separate email will be sent out to those parents and carers who are not yet signed up, with a reminder on what you need to do.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
