Parent Governor Vacancy

03/09/2019

Horbury Primary Academy currently has a vacancy for a Parent Governor, to play an important role in supporting the Academy.

Full details about the role of Parent Governor can be found in our Governance Handbook.

Expressing an interest

Should you wish nominate yourself to be a Parent Governor, please complete the Expression of Interest Form, making sure you have read, and comply with, the eligibility criteria information.

Completed Expression of Interest Forms should be returned by email to enquiries@accordmat.org before the deadline of 5pm on Wednesday 11 September 2019.

The appointment process

If you put yourself forward to be a Parent Governor by the above deadline and no ballot is necessary, you will be elected following the deadline, subject to the checks detailed on the Expression of Interest Form.

Should there be more nominations than vacancies, a ballot will be held. Ballot papers and details of the election process will be sent to all parents and carers eligible to vote.

You will notice that you are invited to provide a summary statement to support your nomination as a Parent Governor within the Expression of Interest Form. If a ballot is held, this statement will be included on the ballot paper to help other parents to decide who to vote for.

Further information

For an informal discussion, further information, or if you are unable to complete this form electronically, please contact Katy Stringer, Director of Operations on 01924 668 936.

If you are not a parent but would be interested in becoming a Governor, please get in touch to see what opportunities are available.

Training will be offered to successful candidates and discussed following appointment.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
