Headline Data 2021/22
In the academic year 2021/22 the following headline data outcomes were achieved at Horbury Primary Academy:
EYFS – GLD was 55%. The National figure was 65%
Year 1 Phonics – 81% passed the phonics screening. This was above the National of 76%.
Year 2 (End of KS1) – 76% of children achieved ARE in Reading, 56% achieved ARE in Writing and 65% achieved ARE in Maths. This generated a combined figure for RWM of 51% with the National being 53%.
Year 6 (End of KS2) – ARE 78% of children achieved ARE in Reading, 79% achieved ARE in Writing and 74% achieved ARE in Maths. These are all above the National figures which are Reading 74%, Writing 69% and Maths 71%.
The average scaled score for Reading was 105.
The average scaled score for Maths was 104.
GD – 28% of children achieved GD in Reading, 28% of children achieved GD in Writing and 28% of children achieved GD in Maths.
This generated a combined figure of RWM of 72%. The figure for RWM is above the National of 59%.
Progress figures for the academic year 2021/22 currently stand at Reading 0.1, Writing 2.5 and Maths 0.3.

In the academic year 2018/19 the following headline data outcomes were achieved at Horbury Primary Academy:
EYFS – 81% of children achieved GLD. This figure was significantly above the national average of 72%.
Year 1 Phonics – 88% of children passed the phonics screening. This figure was above the national average of 82%.
Year 2 (End of KS1) – 75% of children achieved ARE in Reading, 70% achieved ARE in Writing and 75% achieved ARE in Maths. This generated a combined figure for RWM of 67% which is slightly above national at 65% national.
Year 6 (End of KS2) – ARE 83% of children achieved ARE in Reading, 85% achieved ARE in Writing and 83% achieved ARE in Maths. These are all above the national figures.
The average scaled score for Reading was 105.6.
The average scaled score for Maths was 105.3.
GD – 27% of children achieved GD in Reading, 30% of children achieved GD in Writing and 25% of children achieved GD in Maths.
This generated a combined figure of RWM of 80%. The RWM at the end of KS2 has increased year on year since the introduction of the new curriculum. The figure for RWM is above the national of 65% and places the school in the top 20% of schools nationally for attainment.
Progress figures have improved significantly this year and currently stand at Reading -0.7, Writing 0.7 and Maths -0.8.
