World Book Day

This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March.
We would like all children to bring their favourite book in to school on this day*.
Additionally, children may dress up as a book character for the day if they wish.
We would love to see homemade costumes and do not expect parents to go to the expense of
buying new costumes. Children will take part in reading themed activities throughout the day.

We would also like to invite KS2 (Years 3-6) parents and children to a reading event at 5:00pm on
World Book Day which will last approximately an hour. There will be an opportunity to discuss
reading in school, gain information on how to support your children in reading and look at some of
the reading areas and displays in school. Children are invited to read with their friends with a drink
and snack whilst the event is taking place.

* Children may borrow a book from school if they cannot bring a book from home.
Please contact your child’s class teacher for more information

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
