Horbury Primary Academy is a community where children become confident, caring individuals with high aspirations, an enduring enthusiasm for learning and the necessary skills to succeed in life.
At Horbury Primary Academy we believe that the child is at the centre of everything we do and we have tried to create a broad, balanced and creative curriculum to ensure that children are engaged in their learning and above all enjoy coming to school. We have enthusiastic, caring and professional staff who work hard to ensure this happens.
We want every child to reach their potential and our ultimate aim is to create a lifelong love of learning which gives children not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life. We have a culture of learning in which we have high expectations of all children that enables them to achieve through challenge and support.

And just like that, we have come to the end of another term! As always, we are so grateful for the support of our amazing community and proud of all that our pupils and staff have achieved during this term. We hope everyone is able to enjoy some well-deserved rest over the next couple of weeks and we look forward to seeing the children back on Tuesday 22 April.

3M have been hard at work on a ‘mammoth’ task! As part of their Stone Age topic, they have had great fun getting creative and recycling milk bottles to create woolly mammoth models.

On Friday 'Gladiators' star and rugby champion Jodie Ounsley visited us! She spoke to the children about her journey in sport, the obstacles she has faced, what life is like with a cochlear implant and her top tips for confidence and achieving your dreams. The afternoon was rounded off with a signing of her new book - a big thank you to Darling Reads for organising this. We are so grateful to everyone involved in making this happen, and especially to Jodie (or as our children know her, Fury!) for taking the time to visit us. Full story here: bit.ly/4lfddms. Year 6 children have been creating artwork based on our WW1 topic, showing soldiers silhouetted against a chalk and watercolour background. We have tried to reflect soldiers’ experiences and looked at how colour can convey feelings and mood.
