Welcome to Horbury Primary Academy
- At Horbury Primary Academy, we firmly believe that the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum is key to developing the child as a whole. We want our children to leave our school as confident individuals, capable of achieving great things. We have a diverse curriculum, which is interwoven with the key learning attributes embodied within our PRIDE words; perseverance, risk-taking, independence, determination and enthusiasm.
Reading is at the heart of everything we do. At Horbury Primary Academy, we want to cultivate a love of reading to last a lifetime. If children learn to read effectively at our school, they will read to learn for the rest of their lives. We believe that even the very best of curriculums always needs a key to unlock it and that key is READING.
We have created a curriculum which engages and motivates children to want to learn, to solve problems, and to think critically and creatively. We endeavour to provide themed approaches to learning, encourage frequent educational visits and visitors into school in order to bring subjects and learning to life.
Our ultimate aim is for every child to reach their potential and to create a lifelong love of learning. 'The Horbury Way' gives children not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life. We have a culture of learning in which we have high expectations of all, enabling children to achieve through challenge and support.

A huge well done to our children at HPA! They produced this brilliant bunting for Lloyds Bank as part of the Jubilee celebrations. The themes for the bunting were: sustainability and hopes and dreams. The bunting has been entered into a competition. Fingers crossed 🤞 https://t.co/A9s3rir16j
